  1. Weapons Systems Officer requires using a special weapon that has a lock requirement. Does having a "focus, calculate or lock"/"calculate or lock" requirement like Thread Tracers and Multi Missile Pods have count as having a lock requirement, and therefore WSO can be used to acquire a lock on the defender? Or are they two distinct kinds of requirements that means WSO doesn't trigger?
  2. Here's the situation. I have Eta Anakin with Chopper equipped, fully execute my blue or white maneuver, and have no stress token at the time. There is one enemy ship at range 1, no other friendly ships at range 1, and I have a force token available. Can I queue Chopper first, followed by Anakin, meaning I take the red evade, and then remove it with Anakin's pilot ability? The argument I've seen against it being allowed is that as that as Anakin's effect cannot be resolved at the time of adding the ability to the queue(because I do not possess any red tokens), so when I make the check of "can I pay the cost?" to add his ability the queue, it fails since flipping the force token would not be allowed by the statement "A ship can pay a cost for an effect only if the effect can be resolved." on page 2 of the rules reference. The argument in favor of it being allowed is that "I have an active force token available to pay the cost, therefore I can pay the cost, and I only make the check for if the effect can be resolved when I reach Anakin's ability in the queue" Can you clarify which argument is correct?
  3. Also, if Hask is the final ability used in 2a, does it still take place before rolling any dice, or does it take place right after rolling the original dice? I was under 2a ended as soon as the dice were rolled, and based on that Malarus/Hask ruling, that seems like it might be inaccurate, or the text on Gideon is.
  4. Previously, I had seen Gideon Hask ruled to take place during the modify dice step, because you don't know if you've rolled two or less dice until after 2a has finished. My understanding is this is now incorrect from the query about Hask and Malarus, in this topic In that case, can I choose to first resolve Gideon Hask to add a 3rd die, and then use Scorch's ability later in the ability queue during 2a to add a 4th die, as both take place during 2a and are my own player abilities, or does Hask have to be the final ability used in 2a? Hask's text "While you or a friendly small ship at range 0-2 performs a primary attack against a damaged defender, if the attacker rolled 2 or fewer attack dice, it may gain 1 strain token to roll 1 additional attack die." Scorch's text "While you perform a primary attack, if you are not stressed, you may gain 1 stress token to roll 1 additional attack die."
