  1. The adjustment to the detonation rule for Seismic Charges in the Rules Reference version 1.4.5, effective 6/9/2023 is as follows: ”When this device detonates, choose 1 obstacle at range 0–1. The obstacle deals 1 [standard] damage to each ship and remote at range 0–1. Then remove that obstacle.” For reference, this is the rule from version 1.4.4, effective 10/28/2022: “When this device detonates, choose 1 obstacle at range 0–1. Each ship and remote at range 0–1 of the obstacle suffers 1 [standard] damage. Then remove that obstacle.” Page 9 in the current (and previous) Rules Reference describes a distinction between what is similar, but not exact wording in question above. Being dealt a damage card is described as something different than “suffering damage”: “If an effect instructs a player to deal a damage card to a ship, this is different from the ship suffering damage. The card is dealt to the ship regardless of whether the ship has any (active shields).” Is the ultimate outcome of the adjusted rule that ships and remotes still “suffer damage” like the previous version’s rule, such that ships with active shield charges flip them to inactive? Or is the intent that ships are dealt a damage card? Thank you.
  2. Countdown: ”While you defend, after the neutralize results step, if you are not stressed, you may suffer one standard damage and gain 1 stress token. If you do, cancel all dice results.” Flight Leader Ubbel: “After a friendly ship at range 0-2 defends, if it was dealt a damage card, you may perform a bonus attack against the attacker.” If Countdown’s ability is used to cancel all dice results and Countdown suffers one damage in the course of that pilot ability, can Ubbel perform a bonus attack against the ship that attacked Countdown because of that damage?
  3. On page 7 of the Rules Reference is the entry for “BLAZE.” In that section is the following text: ”While a ship moves, if it moves through or overlaps a Blaze obstacle, it suffers the following effect:” On page 15 under “OBSTACLES” is the text: “If a ship moves through or overlaps an obstacle, it suffers an effect based on the type of obstacle after resolving its move:” The two texts above are in conflict with each other. Should the effects of the blaze obstacle be suffered only while a ship is moving or whenever the ship moves through or overlaps the obstacle? The latter case allowing suffering the effects when a ship is not moving but simply happens to be in the place where the blaze obstacle is place upon the blazer bomb detonating. Depending on resolution of the above conflict, another rule on page 16, under the continuation of “OBSTACLES,” may need to be considered for intended outcome: “Before a ship moves, if it is overlapping an obstacle, it does not suffer the effects of moving through that obstacle.” 1) if BLAZE entry behavior is used: the ship would not suffer effects on overlap when the blaze is placed and also not suffer them when the ship next moves, given that it does not overlap it again - never suffering the effects. 2) If the OBSTACLES entry behavior is used: the ship would suffer the effects on overlap when the blaze is placed but not when the ship next moves, given that it does not overlap it again - suffering the effects once.
