  1. Situation: Obi-wan was attacked by Count Dooku and is subject to a shove The Obi-Wan player then uses the movement tool to measure the base width of Obi-Wan. They then measure the push effect and place the movement tool at the end of the shove. They then measure Range 2 from where the base's width was on the movement tool, allowing them to effectively create a proxy base by eyeballing the base's width on the movement tool. The purpose was to use this information to decide if he should use Knowledge and Defense to dash back. The Question: While the rulebook states you can only ever use one movement and one range tool to measure, this seems to really stretch that. Could they use the tools in such a way?
  2. Situation: Participating in a Premiere Showdown event and setting up for a game. Question: Do you show your opponent all 4 of your squads before choosing your Strike Team for that mission? Or is that information private until you reveal your order deck?
  3. Situation: The ARF troopers are hunkered and suffer a ranged attack from Mother Talzin. The Nightsister Acolytes use 'Covering Fire: !' to cause the targeted ARF Troopers to become Exposed. The dice are rolled and the ARF troopers roll 2 Expertise, 2 Blocks and a Failure. The Question: Does the added Expertise Result from 'Lay Low' still get to add 1 Block to the defense roll? The Logic: The effect of Exposed is described as thus: "While defending, characters in this Unit cannot use defense expertise (EXPERTISE) results. The next time a character in this Unit makes a defense roll, remove any Defense Dice with defense expertise results from the roll before modifying the dice rolls". This effect seems to happen in an ambigous step between steps 5 and 6 of the attack timing chart. The way Lay Low reads is that it occurs during step 6b. The statement "While defending, characters in this Unit cannot use defense expertise (EXPERTISE) results." seems to indicate that regardless if Expertise Results are added, you cannot use them while Exposed.
  4. Situation: Squad starts with 6 Force Points. All 6 are used. Lord Maul activates Lord Maul attempts to use Force Speed Question: Can Lord Maul use "Sustained By Rage" to use Force Speed by taking damage even though there is no active Force Points available to use for Force Speed? Reasoning: Sustained By Rage states that 'While this Unit is not Wounded, when it would spend [FORCE] to use an ability...". In this case, since there is not enough force to use Force Speed to begin with, Lord Maul would not be spending any Force to replace with damage.
  5. Situation: Anakin Skywalker with 9 damage assigned to him performs a combat action, choosing to do a melee attack targeting Asajj Ventris. Anakin's attack roll contains a failure in it and does some damage to Asajj. During step 10d, Asajj uses Riposte to deal 2 damage to Anakin. Question: Can Anakin then still use "I'm going to end this" even though he is now in a wounded state once the combat action completes which ends his activation?
  6. The Question: Does 'The Grand Illusion' affect Failures treated as Criticals by the effect of Cloak of Shadows/Probability Manipulation? Scenario 1: Malekith the Accursed moves to be within range 3 of Mysterio. Afterwards, Mysterio activates and uses The Grand Illusion and then attacks Malekith with Hypnosis Gas. After rolling dice, Malekith has 2 Failures and spends 2 power for Cloak of Shadows to treat them as Criticals. Scenario 2: Domino moves to be within range 3 of Mysterio. Afterwards, Mysterio activates and uses The Grand Illusion and then attacks Domino with Hypnosis Gas. After rolling dice, Domino has 2 Failures and spends 2 power for Probability Manipulation to treat them as Criticals. This question came up while I was discussing Malekith with some friends at the local game shop. The root of the disagreement was that there were no critical results actually rolled and since Cloak of Shadows/Probability Manipulation don't actually change the result of the die from a Failure to a Critical, that nothing would actually change for the results since they're Failures, not Criticals.
  7. As per the rules reference: "...When a ship becomes jammed, the player whose effect caused the ship to gain the jam token chooses for the ship to either remove one of its green tokens or break one of its locks. If either effect is resolved, it removes the jam token. If the ship does not have any green tokens or is not maintaining any locks, it remains jammed." If I place a Jam token on an opponents ship which is maintaining a target lock but has no green tokens(or vice versa), can I then choose for the opposing ship to remove a green token(or vice versa)? If so, what happens? Based on the wording, it does not remove the jam token but it has locks or tokens and thus it cannot remain jammed.
