  1. Can a Mercenary commander that is included in a non-battle force army be nominated as the commander for faction-specific command cards? For example, if I am running a Rebel army that includes the Ewok-affiliated commander Wicket, can I nominate Wicket to be my issuing commander for the Rebel only command card, Sabotaged Communications?
  2. Per an earlier question, you confirmed that a unit with Immune: Enemy Effect (i.e. a Hostage unit during round 1) is subject to displacement and can gain a suppression in this way. For clarification, even though a unit can be displaced/gain a suppression in this way, is it still immune to enemy card effects that occur concurrently with displacement? I'm specifically looking at the Reckless Driver upgrade and Drive Them Out command card. Assuming that is correct, can you also clarify that the damage effect would be lost even if the vehicle displaces another enemy unit afterwards because it only effects the "first time" of displacement (i.e., if the Hostage unit is displaced first and is immune to the damage effects of those cards, the damage effects do not trigger on the next unit displaced by that vehicle this turn)?
  3. Per the CRB entry, Low Profile applies if the unit "has cover" that cancels at least 1 hit. Also per the CRB, Smoke Tokens "improve the numerical value of their cover by 1". Are these the same thing or different? For instance, if a unit is improving the numerical value of its cover by 1 because of a Smoke Token, but otherwise would not have any cover applied to the attack, is it considered to "have cover" because of the Smoke Token for the purposes of Low Profile?
  4. If Logray used Aid to pass out multiple tokens gained all at once from Secret Ingredients (or another source that gives multiple tokens at once like Master Storyteller), does each token trigger Aid seperately? For instance, if Logray gets 2 tokens and wants to give them out with Aid, can I choose to give the tokens to multiple units or do they all have to go to one unit? Will Logray end up gaining 1 or 2 suppression total (and optionally removing 1 or 2 suppression because of Secret Ingredients)?
  5. Does Onward to Victory's "when an enemy unit is defeated" move ability trigger only once? Or can it trigger multiple times in the round you exhaust the card (assuming you defeat multiple enemy units in a single round)?
  6. Log Traps says the Ewok Trapper unit gets to make the printed attack at the start of the activation phase. Does this follow the normal timing rules when there are simultaneous effects that occur at the start of activation? In particular: - Can I order the attack with my own Independent keyword abilities to make the attacking unit have a surge (for Slingers) or an aim (given via a Logray with Aid) before making the attack? - If I have priority (because my opponent played a 2, 3, or 4 pip card) does my Log Trap attack occur before any of my opponent's Independent keyword effects? - If we both play Log Traps and I have won priority, can I stop my opponent from making their Log Traps attack by using my Log Traps attack to defeat my opponent's only unit with an Ewok Trapper?
  7. Divine Influence says that Ewok troopers gain the Guardian C3PO ability "[w]hile they are within range 1 of a friendly C-3PO." Based on the definition of "within", am I correct that every mini in the unit (potentially up to 8 for skirmishers/slingers) needs to be no more than range 1 away from C3PO for them to gain Guardian? Or is supposed to work like the Esteemed Leader upgrade?
  8. Page 19 of the CRB says that control of an Active object is checked at the end of each Turn; but nothing seems to specify precisely what step of the detailed turn sequence (Page 39) it is part of. Is control of objectives checked (and control tokens placed) in step 8(B) because it is a non-payer end-of-Turn effect or in step 9 because that is where scoring (moving the Struggle token) occurs? If it is step 9, is checking for control and placing control tokens skipped on the first Turn along with all of step 9 or do you just skip the move-the-Struggle-token part?
  9. So parts of Page 22 of CRB and the below forum answers suggest an answer to my question, but nothing seems to explicitly answer it. If I have no cards in reserve and reveal the last card left in my Order Deck, what happens if I pay the Force cost for that card? Based on the above answers, it seems that, for a Shatterpoint card, you refresh the Order Deck, reveal the top card, and shuffle the Shatterpoint card into the newly refreshed deck. However, for a Unit Order Card, it seems that you can pay the Force to put the card into reserve, but some unwritten rule kicks in that ignores the rest of the reserving process and forces you to select the card you just put into reserve anyway. Is this correct?
  10. Both Kalani, Super Tactical Droid and Kraken, Super Tactical Droid have the Tactical Network active ability and have an active ability icon as part of their respective Combat Trees. If Kalani and Kraken are in the same strike team (different squads presumably), and assuming all range and other conditions are met, could Kalani make an attack during that results in enough successes to allow Kalani to use Tactical Network to grant Kraken a 5-dice attack, that itself results in enough successes to allow Kraken to grant Kalani a second attack (albeit the second one being a 5-dice attack)?
  11. Kalani, Super Tactical Droid has the active ability Tactical Network, which allows the unit to choose another allied Battle Droid within Range 4 and grant them a dash, then the ally may either to gain a hunker token, remove a condition from itself, or make a 5-dice attack. Kalani's Stance, Cold Logic, has an Active Ability personal effect icon on its Combat Tree. Page 32 of the CRB says that such Active effects in a Combat Tree "are resolved after all Directed effects have been resolved and the Damage pool has been applied to the defending character." Appendix A of the CRB includes a more detailed look at the steps of making an attack. Step 10 (which immediately follows from applying the Damage Pool) says to "Resolve all effects that happen after the attack is resolved" and the following order: A. Attacker resolves any remaining effects from their Attack Expertise Chart. B. Defender resolves any remaining effects from their Defense Expertise Chart. C. Attacker resolves all of their abilities and special rules in the order of their choice. D. Defender resolves all of their abilities and special rules in the order of their choice. E. Resolve all non-player abilities and special rules in the order chosen by the attacking player. If Kalani makes an attack that results in enough successes to choose the Active Ability effect on the combat tree, am I correct in saying that Kalani would use Tactical Network as part of Step 10(C)? If so, and Kalani grants an eligible unit a dash and 5-dice attack, do the dash 5-dice attack become "nested" such that we wait until after completing resolving the dash and 5-dice attack before going back to resolve Steps 10(D) and (E) from the original attack, or do the dash and 5-dice attack attack "wait" until after Steps 10(D) and (E)?
  12. A Beautiful Friendship is a Leia Organa Command Card that is permanent, and has two parallel effects, which say when a certain type of commander unit issues orders, you may choose a friendly certain type of unit "at range 1" and issue it an order. What is the origination point for the "at range 1" measurement? Is it always Leia? The nominated commander for the round? Or the specified type of commander that issues the order?
  13. Wicket is a Mercenary with the Ewok Affiliation. Per page 38 of the Rulebook, "A unit with an affiliation can be issued orders only by a friendly unit that has the same affiliation." The Command Card A Beautiful Friend is a Leia Organa-specific card that issues an order to "Wicket and Leia Organa." Leia Organa is a Rebel unit - she does not have the same affiliation as Wicket. As such, per the Rulebook, it would appear that an army with Leia Organa can bring and play A Beautiful Friend (assuming all other criteria are met), but that Leia would not actually be able to issue an order to Wicket. Is this correct? Would Leia have to gain Allies of Convenience (say, from the Underworld Connections upgrade card) in order to actually issue an order to both herself and Wicket with A Beautiful Friendship? Or does the fact that the card specifies giving an order to a named unit override the fact that Leia does not share Wicket's affiliation?
