The Battle of Yavin expansion introduces new Standardized Loadout (SL) ship cards to Star Wars: XWing. These ships have unique abilities or loadouts that you can’t find anywhere else. If the card does not have the Servomotor S-Foils upgrade listed, then it is not equipped.

Pattern analyzer and ship abilities
Kris M replied to Lunar Sovereign's topic in Star Wars: X-Wing Rules Questions
No, Pattern Analyzer (Tech) is allowing you to perform an action BEFORE the Check Difficulty step - abilities that trigger after fully executing a maneuver such as the Tie/Ba Interceptor's Fine-Tuned Thrusters ship ability or the Tie/d Defender's Full Throttle ship ability happen after the Check Difficulty step. -
Darth Vader X1 Pattern Analyzer 2.5
Kris M replied to Tanner's topic in Star Wars: X-Wing Rules Questions
Yes, Pattern Analyzer is allowing you to perform an action - abilities that trigger off performing an action can then enter the ability queue and be resolved. Compare this to Advanced Sensors: After you reveal your dial, you may perform 1 action. If you do, you cannot perform another action during your activation. In this case, the card is specifically telling you that after you perform the action allowed by Advanced Sensors, you cannot perform any more actions during that ship's activation. -
No, the Ancillary Ion Weapon effect means that after step 4 of an attack (the Neutralize Results step) if there are any uncancelled critical results remaining you would deal ion tokens instead of critical damage.

Kanan ship ability clarification
Kris M replied to disco9100's topic in Star Wars: X-Wing Rules Questions
No. the turret arc on the HWK-290 Light Freighter extends to range 3. Kanan Jarrus' (Pilot, HWK-290 Light Freighter, Scum & Villainy) pilot ability would work anywhere in that arc.- 1 reply

No. In the Chance Engagement scenario, starting on the second round, at the start of the End Phase, a player earns 1 mission point if they contest the satellite. A player contests the satellite if they have one or more ships at range 0–2 of the satellite. The Mandalorian Super Commandos, Clan Wren Commandos, Death Watch Commandos Imperial Super Commandos and Nite Owl Commandos are a Device & Remote, not a Ship.

Both Gar Saxon (Empire, Gauntlet Fighter) and Tristan Wren (Crew) refer to Units and not Ships Any rulings for cards that have been translated into a country's local language are based on the English-language version of the card. From the Rules Reference (v1.4.3.1), under Unit: Ships and remotes are units.

Hotshot tail blaster and Dengar gunner.
Kris M replied to Boba Fettish's topic in Star Wars: X-Wing Rules Questions
No. Dengar (Gunner) requires the attacker to be in your firing arc in order to trigger. Hotshot Tail Blaster does not add a firing arc to the ship equipping it. From the Rules Reference Guide (v1.4.3.1 - pg. 4) Firing Arcs: A ship’s firing arcs include all shaded arcs on the ship’s ship token plus all turret arcs, if any. If an upgrade card gives a ship a turret arc or primary weapon with a specified arc, those arcs are also firing arcs.- 1 reply

Normally, no. A ship cannot perform an action while stressed unless they have an ability or upgrade that allows them to perform actions while stressed.

Falcon with escape craft
Kris M replied to Boba Fettish's topic in Star Wars: X-Wing Rules Questions
No, a docked ship is placed in reserve. When a ship that is towing a supply cache is placed in reserves, the supply cache is jettisoned from the ship’s position before the ship is placed on its ship card. -

Tie Defender and Tie Defender Elite Title
Kris M replied to restlessdevil's topic in Star Wars: X-Wing Rules Questions
When you equip the Tie Defender Elite configuration you replace your Full Throttle ship ability with the following ship ability: Advanced Fire Control: After you perform a Cannon or Missile attack, if you have a lock on the defender, you may perform a bonus primary attack against the defender. As such the free evade action provided by the Full Throttle ship ability no longer applies. -
Stop Maneuvers and Range Zero
Kris M replied to MalacorV's topic in Star Wars: X-Wing Rules Questions
No. The red Focus / Calculate only comes into play if a ship overlaps and enemy ship while executing a maneuver. As a ship that executes a 'Stationary' maneuver does not overlap any ships, the ship that executes a stop maneuver after an enemy ship has overlapped it would not be able to perform the red Focus / Calculate, but would be able to perform a range 0 attack.A ship that unsuccessfully attempts to rotate would not be able to perform the red focus / calculate as rotating is not a maneuver.- 1 reply

What does Rebel Chopper crew do?
Kris M replied to Brunas's topic in Star Wars: X-Wing Rules Questions
Yes, Chopper (Rebel, Crew) allows the player to perform an action during the Perform Action step even if that ship would be stressed and not normally able to. This would include the Scenario Action. -
Midnight and Crackshot
Kris M replied to I-Got-Target-Locked's topic in Star Wars: X-Wing Rules Questions
Yes, while Midnight's (TIE/FO) pilot ability prevents a locked enemy ship's dice from being modified, Crackshot (Talent) cancels 1 evade result before the Neutralize Results step. Cancelling dice is not a dice modification -

No. Holo's (TIE/ba) pilot ability refers to the green or orange circular tokens (ie: focus or jam) or the diamond shaped blue and red tokens (ie: cloak or stress)
-
As ionized ships can only perform a Focus action, an ionized TIE/se would be unable to perform the Boost action in the system phase. Ionized ships may drop a bomb as that is not an action. (as previously answered here in the forum)
-
Yes, Iden Versio’s (TIE/ln) pilot ability is dependant on an eligible ship being chosen, not that ship taking damage.
-
The strain token gained by using Moff Gideon's (Tie Fighter) pilot ability is gained by the chosen friendly ship.
-
No, Advanced SLAM (Modification) allows you to perform a white action on your action bar, treating that action as red. The Hondo Ohnaka (crew) action is not added to your action bar
-
No - the ship would only suffer the effects of the final, rerolled result
-
No. Engine Upgrade adds a white boost to the action bar, it doesn’t change existing difficulties.

In your example, you would check the conditions after an enemy ship performs the lock action and assigns a lock token to your ship. It is not perpetually 'on'
