  1. This has been clarified in the most recent Rules Reference update (v1.4.3.1) While attacking a ship at range 0, the attack range is always 0.
  2. In your example, you would check the conditions after an enemy ship performs the lock action and assigns a lock token to your ship. It is not perpetually 'on'
  3. Players may use any Star Wars: X-Wing miniature that represents the same ship type as the pilot in their squad, so long as it is easily recognizable as the ship it represents and has the appropriate ship token fitted in the ship’s base and matching pilot card. This applies to official tournaments. You should consult with your organizer for casual or unofficial events, as this matter is ultimately up to their discretion.
  4. As of Rules Reference v1.4.3.1, ionized ships select a maneuver and set dials in the planning phase.
  5. Yes, some condition cards can also be limited, meaning that each player can have a limited number of instances of that condition in play. For Marked for Elimination, only one instance of that condition is in play, but each ship with Tracking Fob equipped benefits from the text on the condition.
  6. The illicit card is chosen during the Step 1: Gather Forces step after each player has had a chance to see each others squad. The hidden card can be different each round.
  7. The card placed under the title is hidden information until the owner decides to reveal it
  8. No, the card placed under the Razor Crest title must meet all existing squad building restrictions, including the restriction on not being able to equip two of the same upgrade card.
  9. No, the Razor Crest title does not grant an additonal Illicit upgrade slot. The hidden illicit card must be equipped to an existing empty illicit upgrade slot
  10. Yes, as outlined in the most recent Rules Reference Guide (v1.4.1 at the time of writing) - a Sensor Buoy is both a Device and a Remote and would trigger Feedback Ping.
  11. No. Ten Numb's (B-Wing), pilot ability only allows you to spend 1 stress token to change all of your focus results to evade or hit results. His ability does not include blank results. In the question you linked to, an example is provided using the Tie/FO pilot Static who's pilot ability specifically allows you to spend both a lock and a focus token to change all of your results to critical results.
  12. Hi everyone, with every new release, there is usually a large influx of questions. With the release of the latest rules reference guide a lot of you have questions. Quite a few of you have the same questions. We just wanted to let you know that we're working through them as efficiently as we can, but we need to take the time to make sure we're answering them correctly and not just quickly for the sake of speed. Thank you for your patience with this.
  13. No, Scenario actions are white actions that are available to every ship in the play area during scenario play. A ship can perform a scenario action only during its Perform Action step. Therefore, a ship cannot perform a scenario action if it is granted an action at any other time.
  14. No, a Boost is a move and not a maneuver. The "resolve it as though partially executing a maneuver" part of Arvel Crynyd's pilot ability only refers to using the template in order to determine his final position. Arvel's ability doesn't actually turn a boost into a maneuver and it doesn't trigger any abilities that happen after a ship executes a maneuver.
  15. Yes, while overlapping an obstacle or ship causes you to skip your Perform Action step, that ship is still a valid target for a coordinate action.
  16. Yes. With Thane Kyrell: The Thane Kyrell player gets to look at the opponents damage cards and choose one. Then before it is exposed, the R1-J5 player can look at their facedown damage cards and choose which card to expose. With Zertik Strom: The Zertik Strom player spends their lock for the effect to cause the ship to expose a card. Before the card is exposed, the Fireball player can look at their facedown damage cards and choose which card to expose.
  17. Correct, the stress from the red action isn't gained until after it performs the red action.
  18. Step 2a the attack (Roll attack dice) covers this: The attacking player determines the number of attack dice to roll. Starting with the attack value, modifiers that increase or decrease the number of attack dice (such as range bonus and other effects) are applied. Next, if any minimum or maximum number of dice has been set, that limit is applied. There is always a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 6. Then they roll that many dice.
  19. Yes - Players must use official Star Wars: X-Wing dice. This includes the dice found in the Core Box, Dice Expansions, and/or promotional material distributed by Atomic Mass Games or Asmodee.
  20. Yes, once The Child (Crew) is equipped to a ship the "your" and "you" now refer to the ship that it is equipped to.
  21. No. Ablative Plating read: Before you would suffer damage from an obstacle or from a friendly bomb detonating, you may spend 1 charge. If you do, prevent 1 damage. Conner nets are a device and a mine (not a bomb) and don't meet the requirements
  22. While measuring attack range for an attack, the attacker measures from their attack arc to the closest point of the target ship that is in the attacker’s attack arc. As the Heavy Laser Canon's arc restriction is the bullseye arc, you would measure to the closest point in the bullseye arc.
  23. No, during the Perform Action step, an ionized ship can perform only the focus action
