  1. Mind trick doesn’t invalidate the attack, it just ends it early. That attack still occurred and “used” whatever resources applied to it. Mind trick provides the character specifically an attack, not a combat action or a choice of other action types.
  2. Riposte is used after the attack is resolved, which is 10d for the defenders effects.
  3. A character must have the Clone Trooper tag to make use of this ability. They would benefit from at least the first sentence. Characters that also have the Bad Batch tag can benefit from the second sentence as well. A character with only the Bad Batch tag would be unable to make use of the ability at all.
  4. This is too open ended a question to answer for every possible rule. The ability is used still, but the chosen character doesn't gain the condition. Nothing in the rule prevents the character from being chosen. Not technically, although your opponent could allow you to. Can you clarify this question? This ability prevents the listed characters from being eligible targets, so they couldn't be picked to start with. Which is slightly different from the other situations. Nothing in the previous examples prevents the character from being picked, just what happens after they are picked. This is too open ended a question, it depends on the conditions of the individual rules.
  5. No Yes It would make no difference. You satisfied the conditions of Striking Distance when making the first attack, which was ended early. The attack granted by Mind Trick does not have the limitations imposed by Striking Distance.
  6. Riposte is checking the current state of the dice at the point that it is used. If there are no failure results in the attack roll at that point, the attacking unit would not suffer the damage from Riposte.
  7. There is no exception provided for a Wounded unit. An engaged Unit cannot gain or have Hunker tokens regardless of the Wounded/Not Wounded state of the other Unit. The previous answer doesn’t take into consideration every possible exception created by interactions with other rules, just the rules and scenario presented.
  8. That is one potential exception, yes. The previous answer doesn’t take into consideration every possible exception created by interactions with other rules, just the rules and scenario presented.
  9. Based on the picture, yes, this is correct for this scenario (assuming the measurements work out correctly).
  10. No. Although Puff of Smoke is still occurring in Step 12 of the attack sequence, it would occur after the model has had damage placed on it, been KO'd and then removed from the battlefield.
  11. This has been clarified in the latest FAQ and Errata document. Their Coordinated Fire should have the Reactive Icon
  12. Not from damage caused by the Strained condition resolving, no. Strained is a non-player effect once its been applied to a character and thus no character, Unit or player is considered to have caused that damage.
  13. No. In that particular sentence, its the words after the "Then" that are important. "Then, the character that moved..." - This is the condition
  14. You would shuffle your Shatterpoint card back into your deck before you resolve the battle tactic.
  15. Correct. Combat tree direct and personal effects resolve in Step 8, during each option choice, except for active ability, which occurs in 10c Attack expertise directed(other than damage) and personal effects resolve in 10a Defender expertise directed and personal effects in 10b
  16. No. The last sentence of the second paragraph under Reserving an order card states that the newly revealed unit must activate and cannot be placed in reserve.
  17. A "Snip'et" on page 26 actually clarifies that characters at different elevations are never considered to be overlapping
  18. If the Blocked Terrain is a higher elevation then both characters (meaning its greater than the Range 2 tool taller than them), the line of sight would be blocked. Not quite. If some Blocked Terrain was between them that had a higher elevation than both characters, Line of Sight would be blocked.
