About Me

  1. Hello, I’m a little confused by something that’s been discussed today. Someone has been saying it’s permissible to hide Din Djarin out of line of sight, and have the Grogu counterpart miniature use the Ambam ability but but be ineligible to be shot back due to the “small” rule. The part that is causing confusion is that the counterpart rules states: “Upgrade Cards with weapons are usable only by the miniature which has them equipped.” The Ambam rifle has a weapon profile for melee, so does that rule not apply to it for some reason? It says “upgrade cards with weapons” not “weapon profiles on upgrade cards are only usable by the miniature which has them equipped”, so the way it is written the entire upgrade card is only usable by the miniature it is equipped to.
  2. hoping to clarify my understanding of cover and line of sight, and how being in base contact influences the situation. in the image, unit 1 is in base contact with the terrain piece that provides heavy cover, blocks line of sight, and is taller than a trooper silhouette. Are the following statements true: If unit 1 makes a ranged attack at unit 2, unit 2 will not get cover from the terrain piece because unit 1 is in base contact with it unit 1 is unable declare unit 3 a target for the ranged attack, because, while being in base contact negates the cover provided by the terrain piece, the terrain piece still has the property of blocking line of sight due to the terrain piece blocking line of sight, unit 1 may only have the two models in line of sight participate in the ranged attack because the third model is ineligible due to not having line of sight I guess this all of questions could be summarized by "If a unit is in base contact with a terrain piece, does it retain the property of blocking line of sight?" do any of the rulings of these statements change if - the terrain piece is instead a vehicle, such as a saber tank or snail tank? - the terrain piece is a height 2 building and unit 1 is on top of it.
  3. Hello there. Do Overrun attacks need a line of sight from the overruning unit leader to any overruned mini to be performed? And if so, is it after the move only, or can i overrun during the move that allow me to hide behind an obstacle? (assuming the maneuver tool is allways overlapping the target). Linked question: if i see only X mini of the overruned unit, am i still limited to doing X wounds for this attack? do i check the number of minis before and/or after the overruning move?
  4. In the example below, Vader is in melee with a unit of five minis. However, one mini can't cohere in base contact with Vader and so is placed in legal cohesion behind a piece of LOS blocking terrain such that Vader cannot see him. Does this mean that as Vader only has LOS to four minis and not five, he can only do a maximum of four wounds?
  5. Questions on how cohesion works in melee: 1.) If Darth Vader gets in base contact with a base of an enemy unit, who decides how the unit who is going to be attacked will be placed around Vader? 2.) If it is the enemy units owner, can they purposely place their units around Darth Vader in a way that they cannot fit all their units in base contact? Does the Unit Leader of the unit that Darth Vader is in melee with have to be placed in contact with Darth Vader regardless which mini Darth Vader comes into contact first to initiate melee? 3.) If the enemy unit Darth Vader was in contact with were Ewok Skirmishers with 8 minis in the unit, seeing it would not be possible to have all 8 minis be in contact with Darth Vader, would they still be part of the melee attack if Vader rolled all 6 hits and Ewoks rolled all blank defense, would 6 minis be removed from the table? 4.) If there are enemy units that did survive the melee attack from Darth Vader and they are not in contact with Darth Vader's base are they still in melee and how would they be reorganized or positioned? 5.) If there are minis that cannot get into contact with Darth Vader's base after he initiates a melee attack, and if it is the owner of the unit that is going to be attacked who decides how they are placed in contact around Darth Vader, do they follow the normal rules of cohesion (speed 1 distance from the leader)? Could they place a unit around the corner of a building following the rules of cohesion to the point it would be out of line of sight with Darth Vader and would that mini still be defeated by the melee attack if Darth Vader throws enough hits to wipe out the whole unit? If that mini that is out of line of sight is the only mini that survived the melee attack how is that mini and Darth Vader reorganized or positioned, are they still engaged? Thank You for all your help with these questions and scenarios
  6. The situation is that my unit leader can only see one model of an enemy 5 man squad. But I put the other minis of my squad in a way that they can see the rest of the minis of the enemy squad. can I put wounds on the entire enemy squad?
  7. Would the silhouette end at the top of the Gnasp's central top dome? Or would the silhouette be the top wings (if built with the wings higher than the dome) and within the profile of the notched base? Curious because the wings are not strictly antennas, weapons, or crew members. Thanks as always!
  8. Hello, I have some questions about the silhouettes of ground vehicles and vehicles treated as ground vehicles, such as vehicles with the keyword Hover Ground. When reading the questions below please assume I’ve used the term ground vehicle to apply to any vehicle that is or is being treated as a ground vehicle. Per the CRB, the silhouettes of ground vehicles block line of sight. The silhouette of ground vehicles is determined by creating a cylinder from the miniature’s base to the top of the vehicle’s hull, excluding weapons, antennas, crew, etc. Are players permitted to apply hobby basing material including but not limited to, basing paste, sand, epoxy putty, cork, conversion components, etc. between a vehicle mini and its base? Whether intentional or unintentional, this will increase the height of the vehicle’s silhouette which will have impacts. If players are allowed to apply hobby material between the mini and the base, is there a maximum height for each vehicle? Below is an example of the current situation. The silhouette of a Droideka mini (not in wheel mode) is very close to the height of the small base trooper silhouette. If one player has taller Droideka minis, that player can hide small base troopers minis behind their Droideka completely out of line of sight, while being attacked by troopers on the same elevation. Another player, who has shorter Droidekas, only receives heavy cover for their troopers behind their Droidekas. Thanks for all the hard work.
  9. I'm specifically curious about the "A-A5 Speeder Truck" and using it as a LOS blocker, but the same question could apply to the "TX-130 Saber-Class Fighter Tank" or the "AAT Trade Federation Battle Tank" and there might be others. All of these units have the "Hover: Ground" keyword as far as I am aware. I'm unclear on exactly what the silhouette is for these units. I think that the relevant portion of the rulebook is on page 37: Does the volume of the silhouette extend all the way down to the base? Or is it possible for a unit that is in base contact with the vehicle to draw line of sight underneath the vehicle to another unit on the other side (for the purposes of performing a ranged attack or other LOS actions like Aid? Thanks
  10. Please see the scenario below, does the ewok have LOS on the stormtrooper and vise versa, Orange is silhouette height. Basicall, the ewok can fit under the ramp due to its small model size, but the silhouette sticks above it. Can the stormtrooper shoot at it even though there is no "regular" sightline.
  11. If a ground unit is deployed at range 1 and with los to a mine in the minefield condition does that set of the mine? If a ground unit scouts within range 1 and los of a mine does that set off a mine? Does a hover ground vehicle overlapping a mine block los of the mine to other units? If a mine cannot be legally placed during the place condition tokens step what happens? thank you!
  12. We ran into a situation we weren't sure about in our game tonight, hoping people could help us figure it out. An emplacement trooper is facing toward a unit of Tauntauns but the firing arc is blocked by a large building. One figure of the Taun is behind the building and within the firing arc but is out of LOS. The other Taun is within LOS but is outside the firing arc. Can the emplacement trooper use their emplacement weapon to attack the Taun it can see, or would it have to use its blaster weapon instead? We ruled that it could not use its main weapon without pivoting. Did we play that right?
  13. Would a CC like Rule with respect work from the base of the vehicle Boba is embarked onto or would that negate the “have LOS” portion of the requirements? So it would work on an open transport to gain the benefit of the extra dice but not in a closed?
  14. Hello! Does Herbal Medicine require LOS or just range 1?All other medics and the rule TREAT from RRG are requires LOS, but the Herbal medicine’s text is not.
  15. Ground vehicles can be angled over terrain up to 45 degrees This often creates a situation where there is a space under a vehicles base Can models shoot past the vehicle due to LoS under the base, or even move under the vehicle under this ‘bridge’ that has been created ?? Thanks
  16. Hi there, I'd like some guidance on approaching the droideka unit's line of sight. Assuming all minis are build as per AMG's guidance and with standard parts (very minor posing differences might happen), would they all be the considered the same height? If yes, would they then block line of sight to each other's unit? For example unit 1 is standing directly in front of unit 2, would it block los? Secondly, since they don't have vehicle silhouettes, how would we measure if they're higher than a trooper silhouette or is there an accepted rule that they're higher/shorter than troopers? thanks in advance, I appreciate what you do.
  17. A FD Cannon shoots at a 6 mini trooper unit with only one mini in the Fixed Front Arc. The FD Cannon lands 2 hits on the trooper unit. Does the Trooper Unit lose 2 minis or 1 mini? Thanks
  18. Currently only applies to droideka's as all other vehicle units are repulsor and don't block line of sight. So the question is, does a droideka block LOS for the other droideka in it's unit. So in the graphic, can both droideka's shoot the target or only droideka 1 because 2's line of sight is blocked by 1.
  19. If I am in the side arc of a vehicle, but I unable to see the side arc due to intervening terrain, and I can see the front arc of the vehicle, when I attack the vehicle can I still target the side arc or do I have to target the front arc since that’s all I can see?
  20. there's a rule with disembark that you can "use" a standby token to disembark. if I give a unit standby with deploy the garrison can the unit disembark from a LAAT with it?
  21. I have some questions about standby and how do they trigger. If an enemy unit is within standby range and los then moves out of standby range and still have los does standby trigger? If an enemy unit moves through a standby range and los but ends more than standby range and still have los does it trigger? Does the standby unit able to make free actions after making a move action or an attack action such as relentless, charge, gunslinger etc Can the standby unit able to attack any target once the standby was triggered?
  22. When I attack with this card pip 2 Air Support. It is necessary that I have to see my first attacker and the next two thanks to the BEAM
  23. If a ground vehicle is covering a proton/dioxide/thermal/etc charge token when it detonates, I have a couple questions about what happens: 1: If it is a LOS blocking vehicle, I assume it blocks the exploding token's LOS to any other unit, but that it does have LOS to the vehicle currently covering it? If it is only partially covered, can the token draw LOS from any uncovered part of itself? 2: If the vehicle has (eg.) Weakness: Rear 1, would the exploding token's attack gain Impact 1 if it was underneath or partially underneath the rear quadrant of the vehicle's base? ie. does the arc of Weakness start from the edge of the base and extend outwards, or does it start in the middle of the base and include those parts of the base itself? Cheers!
  24. A). Can a unit leader be in base contact with a ground vehicle and shoot through to the other side at an in range target if he can physically see that target? Example the gap between the aa5 model and it's base. B) Even though you can physically see a unit behind a atst. The atst blocks LoS per Silhouette rules?
  25. Hello! The steps for an Attack, at Declare Defenders says: The Fire Support keyword entry states: Does the UNIT LEADER of the Fire Supporting unit need LOS? Or, as it is not an attack, does it only require minis that are adding weapons to pool have LoS, with original LoS determined from the attacking unit?
