Danger sense optional?

Hi when rolling defense dice on a defending unit with danger sense are you required to roll the extra dice if the unit has suppression.  Thanks as always!

Hello,

Danger Sense in the Core Rulesbook states: 

While a unit with the Danger Sense X keyword is defending against an attack, it rolls one extra defense die for every suppression token it has, up to X additional dice.

Because it is not a may, you must roll extra dice.
