zeusjus Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 Hello, A rules snip on page 25 states: Quote A character cannot end a movement partially overlapping a terrain part or the battlefield at a different Elevation than they are. Two questions: 1. Does "at a different elevation than they are" apply to both terrain parts and the battlefield, or just the latter? Stated another way, can you partially overlap a terrain part at the same elevation as you are? 2. When determining if a terrain piece is overlapped, do you look from the top down? In the below picture, if the blue terrain has been defined as one piece, would the character be fully or partially overlapping it? Thanks!
GarnetBear Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Is it allowed to have a character’s base partially overlap the battlefield if the character is at the same elevation (not higher than Range 2 above) as the battlefield, assuming the character is partially on top of a singular terrain feature?
GarnetBear Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Per the snip on Page 25 of the Rulebook you cannot end movement partially overlapping a terrain part at a different Elevation. Is this actually supposed to say you cannot partially overlap terrain at a ‘lower’ elevation or can you not actually partially overlap a gantry which is at a higher elevation than the character?
Spawacz Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Rules stands for: "If a character’s miniature can’t physically fit underneath, balance on top of, or fit inside a terrain feature, the character cannot end a movement there." and then: "A character cannot end a movement partially overlapping a terrain part or the battlefield at a different Elevation than they are." How this should be played right? Ex: B1 unit with bigger base size that can't fit on terrain piece finish movement on that terrain that is the same elevation?
Thoras Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 These should all be clearer now with the latest update to the rule book that clarifies you are unable to partially overlap terrain parts at your own elevation. Let us know if that has not cleared up your questions. Quote When determining if a terrain piece is overlapped, do you look from the top down? In the below picture, if the blue terrain has been defined as one piece, would the character be fully or partially overlapping it? They would be fully overlapping it if this was defined as a single piece.
