ElGrandePicante
Not sure if this was clarified already, apologies if it already was, But as of today, the Rules state the following for movement related to Difficult Terrain: "When a unit performs a standard move, if it begins or ends a move with any of its miniatures in difficult terrain, or the movement tool overlaps a piece of difficult terrain, the unit reduces its speed by 1 to a minimum of 1. This may force the unit to use a movement tool of a lower speed than it originally intended." Concerning the "movement tool overlaps" portion, is this still the case? The Rules state the following for movement related to Obstacle Terrain: "Miniatures can make standard moves onto or through obstacle terrain that is shorter than the height of the moving unit’s silhouette. When placing the movement tool, it may not overlap an obstacle terrain feature that is taller than the moving miniature’s silhouette." Concerning the "movement tool overlaps" portion, is this still the case? Is this ruling only for the purposes of moving through / onto Obstacle Terrain greater than Silhouette height? If the intention is not to climb the Obstacle, does that mean this would change the movement speed/type or make the move not possible if you wish to move the unit into base contact with the Obstacle Terrain piece that's higher than a Silhouette and there is some movement tool overlap? Thanks!
Seth
Hi there, Quote "When a unit performs a standard move, if it begins or ends a move with any of its miniatures in difficult terrain, or the movement tool overlaps a piece of difficult terrain, the unit reduces its speed by 1 to a minimum of 1. This may force the unit to use a movement tool of a lower speed than it originally intended." Concerning the "movement tool overlaps" portion, is this still the case? Yes; if a unit "...begins or ends a move with any of its miniatures in difficult terrain, or the movement tool overlaps a piece of difficult terrain, the unit reduces its speed by 1 to a minimum of 1." Quote "Miniatures can make standard moves onto or through obstacle terrain that is shorter than the height of the moving unit’s silhouette. When placing the movement tool, it may not overlap an obstacle terrain feature that is taller than the moving miniature’s silhouette." Concerning the "movement tool overlaps" portion, is this still the case? Yes; the quoted rulebook text is also accurate. Quote If the intention is not to climb the Obstacle, does that mean this would change the movement speed/type or make the move not possible if you wish to move the unit into base contact with the Obstacle Terrain piece that's higher than a Silhouette and there is some movement tool overlap? A unit may not place the movement tool overlapping obstacle terrain taller than its silhouette, unless it is performing a climb or has a keyword or other game effect that would allow it to do so. Hope this helps, Seth
