desertspiral Posted August 14 Posted August 14 (edited) HI there, I am looking to clarify the trigger that enables Imperial intelligence to function? As I understand it (currently) triggers are defined by one of two things, either: - An imperative (making an attack, making a combat action, etc) - A state (the character is wounded, the character is defending, etc.) ~ As I understand it; the trigger that enables imperial intelligence is the 'state' of being an attacker, or a defender. ~ It has been challenged rather, that imperial intelligence has two defining triggers; both: -the state of being a defender And (when the attacker) - the imperative of making an attack Thus making it different depending on the context of how you use it. So if you are the defender then you can use it within the context of being a defender. However, as an attacker it implicitly keys off of you 'making an attack'. If, this is the intention though; surely it would have been worded consistently with tempered aggression? ~ Please are you able to clarify and tl:Dr- does imperial intelligence conflict with other 'making an attack' triggers (coordinated fire etc.). Thanks Edited August 14 by desertspiral spelling
keladryel Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Quote When an allied character is attacking or defending, this Unit may use this ability during the Modify Dice Rolls step. Quote When a character in another allied XYZ Unit makes an attack as part of a combat action, before dice are rolled, this Unit may use this ability. Do both of these trigger off the same event or is 'attacking' a separate event from 'attack'? The question here was if Kallus' Imperial Intelligence can be used in conjunction with Coordinated Fire: [strain] as the former does not mention making an attack like the latter and as such being different triggering events. I checked the rulebook and as there is no definition of an "event" so I had no reference to point at to prove that making an attack and attacking are both triggers for the same event (or for being different events) because of the difference in wording.
Samuel Sweeten Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Does Agent Kallus’s Imperial Intelligence and Coordinated Fire share the same triggering event?
Koftan Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Hi! I was wondering if the trigger for Agent Kallus Imperial Intelligence is the same as making an attack. Previous rulings have stated that when defending is not the same as being attacked. Hence, the question if attacking is the same trigger as making an attack. If it's not the same his ability could be triggered with coordinated fire and if it is you have to choose.
Thoras Posted November 7 Posted November 7 The event for Imperial Intelligence when used by an attacking character is an attack, so will share the same event as Coordinated Fire The event for Imperial Intelligence when used by a defending character is that they defend
