If someone attacks a Mandalorian that is within R2 of Paz Visla at the start of the attack and then shoves them out of R2 with that attack, does Paz still get to use 'I'll cover the rear' to jump and attack? My gut feel is no, but I can't find identical wording on any other similar abilities and the wording is a little ambiguous.

Looking for clarification on when the 2 range distance for I’ll Cover the Rear to be used would be checked during an attack.

10D would make sense, making the ability able to be avoided by pushing the target out of range 2?

Thanks for any clarification that can be given.

Does the character targeted have to be within range 2 of Paz just when targeted, or after the effect is resolved to be able to use this ability? Also if they have to be within 2 just when targeted, do you still elect to use the ability after the effect is resolved as stated on the card?

The allied character needs to be within range 2 at the time the ability is used, which is 10d of the attack.

If they are shoved outside of R2 before the ability is used, he will be unable to use the ability.
