Hi there. We had a situation we'd hope you could help us to sort out.

Vader is in melee with one unit of Rebel Troopers of one mini, and with another unit of Wookies of four minis. (long story short: he moved in melee with the Troopers, defeated everyone but the leader, then the Wookies get in melee with Vador). Fact is, one Wookie is not in base contact with Vader, as there were no room for him. He was placed as near as possible and considered engaged in melee. Luke is near, ready to attack the dark lord. Awesomely drawed picture below.

1) Its the activation of the Rebel Trooper: he chooses to withdraw. There is now enough space for the last Wookie to be placed in base contact with Vador.

Will the Wookie be immediately placed in base contact with Vader, outside of the Wookie activation, right after the Trooper ends his withdraw?

consider two option of the next step:

2a) Its now the activation of the Wookies. They want to attack Vader. They deal damage but dont defeat the Dark Lord. There is no damage suffered by the Wookies (and not mini is removed). Then the Wookie make the Dodge action to get a dodge token. The Wookie unit didnt do any Move (action or not).

Will the remaining Wookie be placed in base contact with Vader, a) at the start of its activation b) after the attack is resolved c) at the end of the activation? d) none?

2b) its now the activation of Luke. Since the Trooper withdrawed, there is a room for him to move in base contact and attack. He does so

Will the remaining Wookie be placed in base contact with Vader a) at the start of Luke's activation (thus blocking the path for Luke?) b) at the end of Luke's move, (being placed nearer to Vader if possible?) c) none?

3) (easyest one) its now Vader turn. He attacks the wookie, defeating two. some minis are removed, and the remaining are placed into base contact. Correct?

References: "removing minis in melee" box that explains what happens after some minis are defeated in melee, "unit cohesion" box, that explains what happens after a unit leader is placed or moved.

No. Miniatures not in base contact with enemy miniatures are placed into base contact with them when instructed to by the Moving Into Melee process or the Removing Miniatures in Melee process. The Rebel Troopers Withdrawing is neither of these; none of the miniatures in the Wookiee Warriors unit are Moved or placed in any way.

As above, no unit has Moved into melee and no miniatures have been defeated in melee. You will not adjust the Wookiee miniature not in base contact with Darth Vader.

Luke has Moved into melee and will follow the Moving Into Melee sequence, which allows his unit (just him) to adjust the placement of their miniatures, followed by the opponent's affected unit (Darth Vader), following the step-by-step process laid out under Moving Into Melee. As the Wookiee Warriors have not Moved into melee nor been Moved into, none of their miniatures will be adjusted. This is nearest your option C.

Correct. Miniatures were removed in melee as a result of Darth Vader's attack and you will apply the Removing Miniatures in Melee sequence to allow both players an opportunity to adjust their miniatures following the given instructions.

Hope this helps,
