Obi-Wan Kenobi, Out of hiding and Mind Trick potential issue.

I have tried looking up the answer for a bit now and havent been able to find anyone asking or even discussing this particular issue with the Mind Trick

My issue is with the first part of the ability "When an allied character within G3 is targeted by an attack," I believe that Obi-Wan is not able to trigger this ability on himself

Per the Measurement section on page 16, the second last sentence of the text on that page, an object is always considered to be within Range of itself.

The definition of objects on page 8 also lists characters as something defined as an object.

This means that Obi-Wan Kenobi, Out of Hiding fits the criteria to be an eligible character for this ability. He is an allied character and he is within range 3 of himself.
