Rexler Brath Timing

When Rexler Brath attacks while evading, does his ability activate before or after damage is dealt? If the attack causes the defender to receive a damage card, can he turn that card face up, or does his ability only work on damage cards that the defender had before Rexler's attack?

Rexler Brath's (Tie Defender) pilot ability triggers after you perform an attack that hits. The "After you perform an attack" part of the ability means that this happens in the Aftermath step (Step 6b).
