Emergency Deployment and Afterburners

If a ship is equipped with Afterburners while docked, and is able to successfully complete a speed three or higher maneuver while emergency deploying, can that ship use afterburners for a boost action?

Or does the wording of emergency deployment "after executing the maneuver, does not have the opportunity to perform an action" prevent any actions, even those granted by upgrade or pilot abilities?

A docked ship that performs an Emergency Deploy loses the ability to take its action given by the deployment, but this would not effect actions granted by upgrades, such as Afterburners.
