[The Mandalorian; A clan of two & five dice attack]

I need some help understanding how the attack part of "A Clan Of Two" works after checking for the allied unit trigger.  

"one character in this Unit may immediately make a 5 dice attack...".  Make a five dice attack against anyone?  At any range?  Usually the five dice attacks have some kind of conditional statement (melee, range, against the attacking unit, etc).  If Mando activates "A Clan of Two"  during his attack action with 'Bring you in Cold' stance does the five dice attack resolve against the chosen attack action target or am I free to pick another target?

The exception to this rule has to be with General Obi-Wan Kenobi, right?  His Knowledge and Defense would allow Rex to dash into melee and still gain a hunker allowing for the heal to trigger from Bring It On, Clankers.
