  1. When a character rolls a certain number of Expertise results, may a player choose to apply some or all of those results?

Example 1: Grand Inquisitor, Fallen Jedi is in Makashi stance and when making a melee attack, rolls 4 Expertise results (2 Crits and 2 Damage). Can the Grand Inquisitor player choose not to add the 2 damage results or choose to only add 1 damage result?

Example 2: Grand Inquisitor, Fallen Jedi is in Djem So stance and when making a defence roll, rolls 4 Expertise results (Block and 2 Crit to Fail). Can the Grand Inquisitor player choose not to apply the Block, or not to turn 2 Crits into Failures or choose to only turn 1 Crit into a Failure?

    Thank you!

  2. Thank you.

    Extension questions:

    1. Would the same scenario allow an allied (to the wounded unit) Mother Talzin to use 'Wrath of the Great Mother'?

    2. If Darth Vader, Jedi Hunter has 1 Stamina remaining and the Strained condition is attacked by a Galactic Republic unit and receives a 501st Clone Trooper Coordinated Fire (Strain) which wounds him - Can he trigger 'The Sith Lord Strikes Back'?

    3. Both players have Mother Talzin (A and B). Talzin (A) uses 'Manipulating Hand' to Dash a unit that has the Strained condition and 3 Stamina remaining, which wounds the unit. Does this scenario allow Talzin (B) to use 'Wrath of the Great Mother'?

The above questions are trying to understand how the rules differentiate between a unit being wounded by a condition or an opposing unit.

  3. Thank you

No. The attack granted by Appetite for Destruction is limited to targeting a character that was attacked by the combat action attack. Although the attack from Mind Trick occurs during the combat action, the character targeted by it is not one of the characters targeted by the combat action attack.

Thank you, so am I correct in saying that in this scenario 2:
    - Grievous could make another attack into Lord Maul
    - Grievous could then use Appetite for Destruction to have an allied Battle Droid character attack Obi-Wan (as Obi-Wan was the target of the Combat Action)

    Thank you!

  4. Darth Vader, Jedi Hunter attacks Obi-Wan Kenobi, Out of Hiding in Melee with a combat action.

Darth Vader's ability 'Your hatred makes you powerful' states "after choosing the target".

Obi-Wan's ability 'Mind Trick' states "When an allied character within range 3 is targeted by an attack"

Question: At which step(s) are each of the above characters abilities triggered and resolve? (Mind Trick at 3B and Hatred at 4A?)

    Thank you!

  5. Situation 1:
    - General Grievous activation and he uses an action to attack Obi-Wan Kenobi (Out of Hiding)
    - Kenobi uses 'Mind Trick' to end the attack
    - Grievous has no other eligible targets
    - Grievous does have an allied Battle Droid Supporting character within range 3

Question: Can Grievous use 'Appetite for Destruction' to have the allied Battle Droid Supporting character dash and attack Kenobi?

    Situation 2:
    - General Grievous activation and he uses an action to attack Obi-Wan Kenobi (Out of Hiding)
    - Kenobi uses 'Mind Trick' to end the attack
    - Grievous has another eligible target and makes another attack targeting a different character (Lord Maul)
    - Grievous does have an allied Battle Droid Supporting character within range 3

Question: Can Grievous use 'Appetite for Destruction' to have the allied Battle Droid Supporting character dash and attack Maul?

    Thank you!

  6. General Grievous player has no Force left in their Force Pool and makes a melee attack that wounds an enemy Force User.

Can you please clarify the timing chart for resolution as the language is similar but different (after attack resolved vs after effect resolved). At which timing step in the attack chart do each of these abilities resolve? I Have been trained in your Jedi arts and Another Fine addition to my collection

    Thank you!

  7. Assuming all units are not wounded:

    - Identity. If Ahsoka is Pinned and Strained and choses to trigger Fierce Protector in an attempt to Advance, does she; not Advance, remove the Pinned and take 3 damage from Strained?

Reactive. If Magnaguard are Pinned and Strained and choose to trigger Protection Protocols in an attempt to Advance, does a character; not Advance, remove the Pinned and take 3 damage from Strained?

    - Active (self) If B2 Battledroids are Pinned and Strained and use Relentless Advance to Dash 1 character only (the other choosing not to do so), does the character; not Dash, remove the Pinned and take 3 damage from Strained?

    - Active (other). If Magnaguard are Pinned and Strained and are the target of a friendly Tactical Network in an attempt to Advance before attempting to remove a Condition (Strained), does a character; not Advance, remove the Pinned and then remove the Strained (therefore removing both Conditions and take no damage)?

    Thank you!

  8. Situation:
    - A character reaches an option along the path of their Combat Tree that has a Personal Effect Icon Active Ability.

    Example:
    - Asajj Ventress, Sith Assassin is attacking a character in Melee (either Stance) and reaches the 4th option along the path (Personal Effect Icon, Active Ability). Asajj Ventress chooses to use 'Force Push' as the Active ability.

    Questions:
    - At which step of the timing chart does the Personal Effect, Icon Active ability from the Combat Tree resolve?
    - At which step of the timing chart do other Personal Effect Icons from the Combat Tree resolve? (if different to the Active ability on the Combat Tree)
    - Pg 32 reference above states 'Active abilities' and 'Active effects' in the same paragraph, what is the difference between an Active ability and an Active effect?

    Thank you!

  9. Situation:
    - An Injured character reaches an option along the path of their Combat Tree that has a Personal Effect Icon Active Ability.

    Context:
    - Active Ability pg 32 rulebook (may use one of their Active abilities without paying the Force cost)
    - Becoming Injured pg 34 rulebook (must spend 1 Force for each of their Injured tokens as an additional cost to use and Active or Reactive Ability)

    Example:
    - An Injured Asajj Ventress, Sith Assassin is attacking a character in Melee (either Stance) and reaches the 4th option along the path (Personal Effect Icon, Active Ability). Asajj Ventress chooses to use 'Force Push' as the Active ability without paying the Force cost (normally 2 Force)

    Question:
    - Does Asajj Ventress have to spend 1 Force (additional cost due to being Injured) to use this Personal Effect Icon Active ability for Force Push?
    - Does reaching a Personal Effect Icon Active ability option along the Path negate the requirement to spend an additional Force per Wounded and Injured tokens?

    Thank you!

  10. Just seeking to clarify the timing for Escort to Safety with a beam attack that targets multiple characters.

Example: Friendly Vision is attacking 3 enemy characters (Zemo, Bullseye and Sin) with his Solar Energy Beam. For the sake of question clarity, the opposing player wants to Escort to Safety Sin.

Does the enemy player declare and use Escort to Safety on Sin during Step 2 d. when Vision first places his range 4 template down and before Vision creates any of the dice pools to attack any of the 3 characters?

    or

Can the enemy player await for Zemo and/or Bullseye to be attacked first by Vision's beam before then using Escort to Safety on Sin?

    Thank you
