Chewbacca ATST with Brains & Brawn

A couple of questions regarding the Chewbacca ATST in the new Bright Tree Village battle force:

1) The card would be eligible to bring because the ATST's name is Chewbacca, correct?
2) If yes, could Chewbacca add a weapon to Leia's dice pool if the defending unit is not in his front arc?
3) Likewise, could Chewbacca add a range 2 weapon even if he is at range 3 of the defending unit?

Yes. As per the “Building a Command Hand” section of the core rulebook, if a command card requires certain units, these units must be in a player’s army to be included in a command hand. Chewbacca’s command cards therefore require a Chewbacca unit present in your army, but need not be the Walking Carpet operative version of this character.

No. The Fixed: Front keyword states “To add a weapon that has the Fixed: Front (…) keyword to an attack pool, the defending unit must have at least one of its miniature’s bases partially inside the firing arc or the attacking miniature.”

The Brains and Brawn command card adds one of Chewbacca’s weapons to Leia Organa’a attack pool. The stipulations for adding a weapon with the Fixed: Front keyword must still be followed.
