Can the Sinister Six leadership trigger when a friendly character takes 1 damage from an allied beam attack? i.e. Doc Ock uses his arm lasers centered on an enemy and catches a friendly model in the attack.

A stance card can be flipped any time during that character's activation, but you can only use the attack stats and expertise chart of the active side. So can a character change it's active stance during any step of an attack action or would a player have to wait until the attack is fully resolved?
