Echo lethality and sim tokens

Hello! 
 

just wanted clarification after playing my first game with echo.

 

If echo has an aim token, while rolling attack dice, do I spend the aim token to CHOOSE to EITHER reroll or gain pierce one  through lethality one? 
 

Or do I get the pierce one through spending the sim to reroll dice anyways?
