yossarian
I have a question about timing and effects of speed 1 moves from order cards, specifically the interaction between Padme's 2 pip "Aggressive Negotiations" vs Leia's 2 PIP "No Time for Sorrows". 1) It is my understanding that speed 1 moves cannot be used when engaged, the exception being force push which explicitly states the speed 1 move can be used while engaged. So speed 1 moves generated from command cards above cannot leave an engagement? Is this correct? 2)So during the command phase, if republic player A trooper uses its speed 1 move to engage player B trooper does that mean Rebel player B trooper cannot "run" away from NTFS since it is now engaged? Does it come down to roll off for priority to get away or not from the speed 1 moves? 3)Assuming the fleeing player (B) loses priority, do they then wait to issue orders, so that after player A has engaged, player B can choose a new unit that is not engaged to move? Thanks!
Seth
Hi, 5 hours ago, yossarian said: 1) It is my understanding that speed 1 moves cannot be used when engaged, the exception being force push which explicitly states the speed 1 move can be used while engaged. Correct; a unit may not perform moves while engaged unless a card, keyword, or other game effect specifies otherwise. 5 hours ago, yossarian said: 2)So during the command phase, if republic player A trooper uses its speed 1 move to engage player B trooper does that mean Rebel player B trooper cannot "run" away from NTFS since it is now engaged? Correct, if a unit uses a speed-1 move granted by a command card to move into base contact with another trooper unit, that opposing unit may not move away except with a withdraw during their activation. 5 hours ago, yossarian said: 3)Assuming the fleeing player (B) loses priority, do they then wait to issue orders, so that after player A has engaged, player B can choose a new unit that is not engaged to move? Orders are issued by the player with priority in their entirety before the player without priority issues orders. In your example, player B does not issue an orders until after player A has issued theirs (and, in this case, resolved the free speed-1 moves secondary to those orders being issued). Hope this helps, Seth
