HLC reads "After the Modify Attack Dice step, change all (crit) results to (hit) results."

If someone uses HLC against Dark Curse and rolls Crits, do they remain as Crits as his ability denies all mods?

Yes, as changing a die result is a form of dice modification, Dark Curse's (TIE/ln, Galactic Empire) pilot ability would prevent any critical hit results from being changed to normal hit results.
