Abilities Referencing Results e.g. Dooku

When an ability references results in a roll e.g. Dooku's Twice The Pride ability says "if the attack roll contained no [strike] results", is this before or after modifications? I.e. can I use the Surely You Can Do Better to change strikes to failures and then trigger Twice The Pride if there are no strikes left?

Generally speaking, abilities like these look at the dice pool when they trigger. 

Twice the Pride, Double the Fall triggers after the attack is resolved. It will look at the final result of the attack roll.
