joeshmoe554 Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 If Captain Rex is strained when he activates, can he use his Tactical Get a Move On, Solider on himself, choose not to dash and gain a hunker token, triggering Bring It On, Clankers which allows Rex to heal off the Strain before it would trigger dealing 3 damage? Or would the Strain deal 3 damage from the Tactical ability before Bring It On, Clankers could heal it off?

Yes, he can do this. Although if he chooses not to dash, nothing in that interaction would trigger strained anyways. The use of Tactics abilities do not trigger the Strained condition. The effects of a tactics ability can trigger it though. Rex is forced to resolve his tactic ability when he starts his activation. This does not interact with Strained The tactics ability then gives the chosen character the option to dash and the option to gain a hunker. If Rex chooses to dash, this effect will trigger strained and cause him damage. This would happen before he gains the hunker and can subsequently heal because it happens as a part of the dash’s resolution, where as gaining the hunker and triggering other rules happens as a part of the tactic unrelated to the dash. If he opts not to dash, then still no impact. Whether or not he chooses to gain the hunker has no interaction with strained. The tactics ability would then be resolved.
