Maul and Dark Troopers interaction

Maul's "There is no place to run" ability states that you pull the chosen enemy character, then that enemy character gains expose. If you cannot pull the character, such as because of the Dark Troopers' "Immovable" ability, do they still get the expose? Or does the ability stop progressing through the steps at the point the target is immune to the pull?

That ability does not require the chosen enemy character to be pulled in order for them to be Exposed.
