Weapon system officer into sync console

Can i spend target lock, get my lock back with weapon system officer, and then pass my lock to a friend with sync console.   I was told i cant because of ability queue and then also told i can because it happens during attack timing chart.

Despite the added caveat of a special attack with the lock requirement for Weapons Systems Officer, both Weapons Systems Officer (Gunner) and Synchronized Console (Modification) trigger "After you perform an attack" and can be added to the ability queue in the order of the controlling players choice allowing that player to acquire a lock on the defender via Weapons Systems Officer and then trigger Synchronized Console.
