Combat tree advancement

Recommended Posts

For combat tree advancement, what if a character is wounded and you attack them. Can you not advance past any blocks that have damage? Because you cannot apply damage due the the wounded?

Also if they have a condition and you apply the same condition and you apply damage instead. Does this count as fulfilling the block and progressing toward the next block?

Damage is not applied immediately while moving along the combat tree, it is applied to a pool and then to the unit (if possible) after you have finished moving along your tree.

Yes

But isn't damage from a condition that is already applied, applied immediately and not from the pool? As long as I'm understanding correctly, attackes on wounded characters still go down the tree applying damage for duplicate conditions and other conditions or effects that are not applied yet?

With the latest rulebook update posted today(Feb 2024), the damage from a condition being applied to a Unit that already has that condition, if the condition is added via the combat tree options, becomes a part of the normal damage pool now.
