AT-RT Melee with Fire Support

An AT-RT goes into melee range of a unit. Since it is not engaged, can a Fire Support from a Corp Trooper be called to add to the AT-RT attack dice pool where the AT-RT attack pool is the RPC-2 Rocket Launcher or the Flamethrower? Thanks

The Fire Support keyword may be used when another friendly unit performs a ranged attack.

No, the Clone Troopers may not use Fire Support as the AT-RT is targeting a unit in base contact and so will perform a melee attack and not a ranged attack. For this same reason, the AT-RT may not use the stated ranged weapons; it may only target the enemy unit with which it is in base contact with its Grappling Claws melee weapon.
