Hello.
After reading this topic https://forums.atomicmassgames.com/topic/15028-ingress-points-and-range-tool-usage/ I would like the use of tools (range and movement) to be clarified.
- Can we measure anything and everything at any time?
- Or can we only measure what is involved in the action we're about to perform? (For example, after a move and at the start of a ranged attack action, I use PX to check the attack range, but I'm not allowed to measure PX from the enemy before moving ?).
- And do we have to measure only from the unit we're activating, or can we measure distances between any other objects (like enemy units, terrain)?
- For example, before moving, am I allowed to look at P2 (for engagement) or P5 (for attack range) around an enemy character?
Or in relation to the topic above, before moving and using the ingress point, can I first measure the P5 around the enemy, then remove the tool, remember where P5 was, then make my move and use the ingress point and arrange to arrive in the previously measured P5 (without using again P5)?
- Once I've set my move template, can I use a range template (P2 or P5, for example), which is another type of tool, to adjust my character's final position?
For example, in the manual, page 16: "After making a move action, Bo-Katan Kryze uses her Mandalorians are Stronger Together ability. Measuring with the Range 2 tool, the Clan Kryze Mandalorian's base is touching the tool, so it is within Range 2", it says that we measure P2 AFTER the move action. Can we do this simultaneously, as they are 2 different tools (movement tool + P2 for adjusting the final position), so put down the movement template and check at the same time where the other Mandalorian character's P2 is?
Thanks !
