If I choose to split fire two weapons with a unit that has arsenal 2, and the attacking unit is defeated after suffering wounds from deflect during the first attack pool, can the attacker still perform the second attack using the additional pool?

Is it possible to select a unit using give in to your anger that was selected by your opponent t come in as part of the rapid reinforcements mission rule? Therefore forcing them to bring that unit in and gain the 4 suppression.
