Flipping Stance Cards and Timing

A stance card can be flipped any time during that character's activation, but you can only use the attack stats and expertise chart of the active side. So can a character change it's active stance during any step of an attack action or would a player have to wait until the attack is fully resolved?

Rules that state they can be used at “any time” do not literally mean “any time.” You can see a full definition in the Snip't on page 11.

They cannot be used while another effect is resolving. 

You would have to finish the attack before you could switch stances once the attack is declared.
