Scale and Reposition

If a character has Scale and gains a reposition while not engaged, can that character use the reposition to climb since reposition allows the character to advance and scale allows any character who would advance to climb instead, or is a reposition considered a different form of movement which would prevent scale from converting it into a climb?

Yes, they can do this if they are not engaged.
