partially overlapping when advancing diagonally between gantries

Character does an advance at the same elevation from Gantry A to Gantry B diagonally and ends his advance only partially overlapping Gantry B and partially overlapping the ground at a lower elevation. Is the character moved toward Gantry B so it fully overlaps? Or can the character not make this movement?
Was not able to find a clear answer in the Core rule book.

This is correct. You would have to choose a different spot along the movement tools current position to put the character down, even if that meant putting the character in the same spot it started. It would still be considered to have performed that movement.

Yes. The rules for advancing describe how it is done. The rules for overlapping and terrain cover where miniatures may be placed.
