  1. The rules are correct. This seems quite clear and unambiguous. It specifically states that only 'when measuring distance' is the 'vertical distance' discounted. It goes on further to clarify that players may only use a measurement or range tool to measure distances and "may not use any other device to measure distances". Is the wording and language used here correct? The Line of Sight rules on page 37 of the rulebook states (emphasis mine): Again, clear and unambiguous. But take note of the language used, it is specifically talking about 'drawing a line', not 'measuring a distance'. Is the wording and language used here correct? The fourth bullet point of the Hunker Tokens & Cover rules on page 37 of the rulebook states (emphasis mine): Note the language used: "a straight line can be drawn". Again, this is 'drawing a line', not 'measuring a distance'. There is nothing here to indicate, or even suggest, that 'vertical distance is discounted' when drawing a line. Additionally, it uses the language 'through' and not 'overlapping', further distancing itself from the Measurement rules. Is the wording and language used here correct? The wording is correct, yes. Is this ruling correct? This ruling is correct. Provided that the Unit has a Hunker token and meets all other requirements, yes, it would gain Cover [1]. Yes, provided they meet all of the requirements to gain cover from the terrain.
  2. No. When an ability instructs a Unit to "immediately make" an action, that action does not count against that Unit's limit of two actions per activation. No. A Unit may only make each action one time during its activation.
  3. The main page for rules including the Core Rules can be found here.

  6. Welcome everyone! This forum is a place for playesr to ask any questions pertaining to Star Wars: Shatterpoint rules. Maintaining these forums takes a massive effort from our awesome mod team - and to help them in that role we have some very basic ground rules, policies, and tips for posting here: • There are no external links allowed in posts or profiles on this forum. Any post containing an external link or mentioning an external source will be removed. • Please try the search function before asking a rules question. • Any posted topic that is not a rules question will be deleted without consideration and you will receive a warning. Should you continue to receive warnings you will be banned from the forums. • Make sure to only ask ONE rules question per thread. Create a new thread for each question. • When asking rules questions please be clear about your question listing the name of all relevant rules without using nick names, abbreviations, or slang. • Once a thread receives the correct answer it will be locked. Thanks, in advance, for following these rules and guidelines so that we can get as many players answers to their questions in a reasonable timeframe as possible. Cheers!
  7. When you first post a question to the forum, it will remain in an unapproved state until it can be officially answered, at which point it will be answered and approved. While unapproved, the post will be invisible to everyone but the original poster. Keeping the forum clean and organized sometimes requires us to move posts around, merge posts together, or delete duplicates. Any of these might cause your post to become invisible to you until it is published.
  8. When Han Solo (Modified YT-1300)'s pilot ability is triggered, you must reroll all of your dice.
  9. Yes, Dead to Rights would prevent the use of Naboo Handmaiden's Decoyed condition, as it requires a green token to be spent. No, Dead to Rights would not prevent a player from using Juke's ability, as no green tokens are spent/used.
  10. Yes, the defender would gain a strain token on account of the Fearsome Prey condition.
  11. This applies to both adding dice to the attack roll, and adding results, provided it is the attacker that is adding those results. The statement that dice cannot be added means that additional dice cannot be rolled. Adding results is a modification of dice, and attacks at attack range 0 cannot be modified, except by the defender.
  12. No, not with an equipped cannon, though there are other means to make this work. For example, the TIE/rb doesn't have a native Front Arc, and any cannon with a Front Arc restriction gets treated as a Turret Arc instead. Because of this, cards that reference a "Front Arc attack" such as Outmaneuver and Migs Mayfield wouldn't work with an equipped cannon. However, a TIE/rb with the Snap Shot talent equipped WOULD meet the requirements of Outmaneuver and Migs Mayfeld. *edited on 22/02/23 - Updated reply and added clarification*
  13. These ships can use their ship ability while towing a supply cache. This boost is not an action and is, therefore, unaffected by the restriction.
  14. CIS Rogue-class Starfighters that have the Networked Calculations ship ability are able to equip Independent Calculations, even if •Cad Bane (Rogue-class Starfighter) is included in the same squad. Since •Cad Bane (Rogue-class Starfighter) does not have the Networked Calculations ship ability, he is not eligible to equip the upgrade - but this does not stop the ships that do meet that requirement from taking advantage of this option. This will be made clear in a future RRG update.

  16. M9-G8 resovles during the Modify Attack Dice step, and the timing within that step is determined by whether the player who is resolving M9-G8's ability is the attacking player or the defending player. The defending player resolves their abilities first, followed by the attacking player. M9-G8 cannot force an attack die that has already been rerolled from being rolled again, per the "Golden Rules": "During an attack or while otherwise resolving an effect involving dice, each die cannot be rerolled more than once."
  17. This is correct. If Klick spends his lock to modify his attack dice, the ship is no longer locked, and the requirement to use the pilot ability is no longer met.
  18. No. If "Klick" spends his lock to modify the attack dice, the ship will no longer be locked when the defender determines the number of dice in its pool - therefore the requirement for the ability is no longer met.
  19. No. The Weapons hardpoint allows a ship to equip a single upgrade, it does not give the ship an upgrade slot.
  20. Yes, a ship can attack a Buzz Droids remote at attack range 0.
  21. If a ship gains a jam token, it must choose a valid option to break or remove, (ie. a lock token, or a green token) if one is available. A ship maintaining a lock that does not have any green tokens could not remove a green token, as there is no green token to remove. It would have to break one of its locks, and vice versa.
  22. No. The Weapons hardpoint allows a ship to equip a single upgrade, it does not give the ship an upgrade slot.
  23. No. If Gar Saxon is used to remove the defender's only stress token, the restriction for Lando's Millenium Falcon is no longer met, and the additional die it grants is lost.
