If there are any cards in the Order Deck, no. When a card is placed in Reserve, players immediately reveal the next card in the Order Deck. You would not be able to look at the card and decide to activate the newly Reserved character instead.

It will resolve in step 10C. Those affect resolve as they are chosen. There is no difference.

Count Dooku - Twice the pride, double the fall
Negoldar replied to neitral's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions
Yes. In step 7 of the attack timing the attacker removes one Strike for each Block in the defense roll. When the attack timing gets to step 10D, if there are no Strikes in the attack, Count Dooku, Separatist Leader’s Twice the Pride, Double the Fall can be used. -
AI combat Protocol vs knowledge and defence
Negoldar replied to Anttix's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions
It is correct. Knowledge and Defense triggers after an attack is resolved. This is during step 10 of the attack timing. Combat A.I. Protocols triggers after a combat action is made by an allied Battle Droid Unit. This is after the “after the attack is resolved” timing.- 1 reply

Before damage is dealt
Negoldar replied to Cthulhuguy's topic in Marvel: Crisis Protocol Rules Questions
An effect that triggers “before damage is dealt” does not require the target character to suffer damage to resolve. -
Before damage is dealt
Negoldar replied to Cthulhuguy's topic in Marvel: Crisis Protocol Rules Questions
No. That phrase references the timing step that shares the same name, step 11 of the attack timing in Appendix A. -

'Spending' Hunker tokens
Negoldar replied to Epiktetos's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions
Hunker tokens are not spent when defending against a ranged attack. They remain until a rule removes them. -
Sharpshooter rules are on page 39. A focus action is required to gain the extra dice from Sharpshooter.

Fall Back has no direct effect on the attack in progress. A character with Stealth will not end the attack if they move beyond Range 3 because the check for Stealth is done much earlier in the attack sequence and will not be repeated. Triggered effects that trigger after Fall Back resolves may or may not be able to happen depending on their specific rules.

Attack cards clarification
Negoldar replied to Fred's topic in Marvel: Crisis Protocol Rules Questions
Cruelty’s attack is made as part of the resolution of the card’s effect so it does not require an action. The attack from Helicarrier Strike is not made as part of the card’s resolution so it does require an action.- 2 replies

Fall Back does not have the same phrasing as Eye in the Sky so it does not stop the attack.

Can the same die be modified twice?
Negoldar replied to Rodraggor's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions
There is no rule against modifying a die twice. Yes, Jedi Master Luminara Unduli can modify a die like that. -
Lord Maul Revenge ability with Pinned token
Negoldar replied to RobbieG's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions
Pinned prevents the next movement. If that movement is from Revenge, I Must Have Revenge, it will apply and prevent the dash. -
Overlapping objective tokens

Defensive expertise
Negoldar replied to Corey Papinniemi's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions
The player chooses the order of applying Expertise results if the results share timing. The two Personal Effects on Form V Shien Reverse Grip's last Expertise line (4+) share timing so they resolve in the order the player decides as per page 14 of the core rulebook.
