Is martial artist optional?
Negoldar replied to Tatan's topic in Marvel: Crisis Protocol Rules Questions
Master Martial Artist is not an optional superpower. Optional superpowers use “may” to indicate the player is able to make a choice about them.- 1 reply

Climbing outside an ingress point
Negoldar replied to kfisher109's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions
Ingress points are used after Advance, Dash, Climb, and Jump movements. Include the additional three types of movement, and yes, you have it correct. -
MagnaGuard Bodyguard ability
Negoldar replied to DarthKrikor's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions
No. Cover does not apply to melee attacks. Bodyguard does not change this rule. -
Both of these effects share the same timing. Brave, but Foolish is an Innate ability which is always on and will trigger whenever its conditions are met. Twice the Pride, Double the Fall is a Reactive ability. Each player may use one Reactive ability in response to a given triggering event and each Reactive ability can be used only once per turn. Both of these abilities may be used in response to an allied character being attacked if the attack Wounds that character because one is an Innate ability (specifically an Identity ability) and the other is a Reactive ability.

Negoldar replied to Vaughnej's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions

The player opposing the player who is using these characters will resolve the dropped objective. If the character in question specifies another way to resolve the dropped token, that will overrule this core rule.

Two questions about Surely you can better
Negoldar replied to Lannes's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions
Yes. It will cost 2-4 Force to get the 1-3 result modification. The Force spent due to the Injured token is an added cost to the ability’s cost. Yes. Those added results resolve in step 6A1. The defender, Count Dooku, Separatist Leader in this case, changes the attack roll in step 6A2. In the future, one question per thread. -

Ahsoka's Fierce Protector ability
Negoldar replied to Don's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions
Yes she can. The requirement for an Advance is the character is put into contact with the movement tool. There is no requirement for the character to move to the end of the tool or a minimum distance. -
Ordering of "this unit may X and Y" abilities
Negoldar replied to zeusjus's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions
The effect in this case is Patience. Patience instructs you do do a number of things that are done in the order presented. If there is another effect that occurs at the same time as Patience, you would be able to choose which to resolve first.- 3 replies

"The character that caused the effect"?
Negoldar replied to JoshM's topic in Star Wars: Shatterpoint Rules Questions
The character that Wounded the allied character. In this case, the B1 Battle Droids. Kalani, Super Tactical Droid did not Wound the allied character. -
The above ruling is changing. When an effect triggers "after this Unit makes a combat action" it will occur after the Combat action is complete which puts it outside of the attack timing chart. This allows Asajj Ventress, Sith Assassin to Riposte in step 10D of the attack timing before General Anakin Skywalker can use I'm Going to End This. When an effect triggers ""after a Unit makes an attack as part of a combat action" it will resolve during the attack timing--step 10C.
