Summa-verminoth and overlapping mecanisms
DSchultz replied to ZaZ's topic in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions
Yes, these cards would resolve as normal if a ship equipped with them overlap the Summa-Verminoth. (But not if they are overlapped by the Summa-Verminoth)- 1 reply

Summa-verminoth Movement Backwards
DSchultz replied to Duke's topic in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions
Hello! Thank you for your patience as this was reviewed. Please take a look at the following pictures and explanation of movement. Let me know if there is any questions. Here is an example of how the Summa-Verminoth moves forward, with one yaw applied at the speed 1 yaw value. The Summa-Verminoth moves to the speed 2 section of the maneuver tool. Here is an example of how the Summa-Verminoth moves backward, with no yaw applied. The Summa-Verminoth token is flipped to face the direction of movement and moves to the speed 2 section of the maneuver tool. Here is another example, with yaw applied at speed 1. Here is an example of an illegal maneuver when moving backwards. This maneuver has yaw applied at speed 1, with the yaw joint clicked towards the Summa-Verminoth token. Notice that the the token of the Summa-Verminoth is being overlapped by the maneuver tool, so this maneuver cannot be performed.- 1 reply

Hello, There is no "distance 6" on distance ruler. A squadron can only ever move up to a maximum of 5. -

How do Fighter Ambush and Invisible Hand interact?
DSchultz replied to Norbert's topic in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions
Hello! Thank you for your question, No. The second player would not be able to set aside squadrons and utilize Invisible Hand ability in this instance. This is because the "Before deploying fleets" timing of Fighter Ambush Setup effect would set aside the 2nd players squadrons before fleets are deployed. Invisible Hand's ability is only resolved in the "While deploying fleets" timing, which is before the second player could deploy the set aside squadrons due to Fighter Ambush effect, which is in the "After deploying fleets" timing. -
Hello! Yes. Tokens, unless otherwise specified, can be placed on top of other tokens. But moving one doesn't allow for the movement of all tokens placed. Nothing in the Rules Reference Guide allows for what you describe in your examples.

Objective Opening salvo second player

Hello! Thank you for your question. For the Opening Salvo objective, both dice need to be added and rolled at the same time. -
Officer Emperor Palpatine against TRC
DSchultz replied to ZaZ's topic in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions
A: No, Per RRG, "A defense token cannot be spent more than once during an attack." Using your example, if the attacking ship only has 1 "Readied" Evade defense token, and you attack a ship that has Emperor Palpatine (Officer) equipped. You would "spend" the Readied Evade defense token due to Emperor Palpatine (Officer) ability, that defense token was spent in this attack, and thus cannot be spent again this attack. So no, you cannot spend it again for use for the Turbolaser Reroute Circuits effect. -

Interesting find! A: You must Resolve all "after" effects of the first maneuver before proceeding into any additional maneuvers. Resolve any effects in the timing of "after" for the first maneuver, which includes deciding the use of Engine Techs, if able. After resolving all effects in that timing, then preform any additional maneuvers. You could not, for example, maneuver twice to avoid any negative effects of the first maneuvers "after" timing when overlapping an obstacle.

Attacking while overlapping a Dust Field
DSchultz replied to Duke's topic in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions
Hello! I'll do my best to break down these questions. A: Please review the "Obstacles" topic and the "Dust Fields" subsection for all information that relates to this question. If an attacking and / or defending ship is overlapping a dust field, but traced line of sight does not pass over a visible portion of that obstacle, a ship can perform that attack, as long as it follows all other rules of an attack unless otherwise specified. If line of sight is traced over a visible portion of that obstacle, a ship cannot perform that attack (but may declare another target). If line of sight is traced over that obstacle, the attack is prevented even if the bases of the attacker and defender are touching. -
Correct. The use of "Friendly" isn't limited anywhere else at this time unless otherwise specified, such as the Commander upgrade cards in Sector Fleet. Here are some examples, Commander Sato can only use their ability using squadrons in their fleet and not another friendly players squadrons. Admiral Konstantine can only use their ability using ships in their fleet and not another friendly players ships. Kraken can only use their ability using ships in their fleet, and not another friendly players ships. Admiral Yularen can only use "Repair Squadron" repair effect on squadrons in their fleet and not another friendly players squadrons.

Jaina's Light and Overlapping Multiple Obstacles
DSchultz replied to Darth Vader's topic in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions
Yes. If the ship chooses to ignore the effects of one obstacle that it overlaps, it must ignore the effects of all obstacles it overlaps. -
Hello! Usually we ask that questions are submitted only one at a time, but I can see how these are related. In short your question is the following No. To elaborate, when Jaina's Light overlaps an obstacle. It can use its ability to ignore the effect of the obstacle it overlapped but the act of overlapping still occurred. Also take note, that when a ship overlaps an obstacle, that is a "When" effect. And those objectives special rules are also "When" effects, which means a player can resolve those effects in any order of their choosing per Effects Use and Timing unless otherwise specified.

Hello! No, tokens are not removed from the play area. If an obstacle that has tokens on it is removed from the play area by a player (such as with Exogorths), or moved by a player that results in that obstacle being removed from the play area (such as with Doomed Station), your opponent must place the tokens in the play area touching where the final position of the removed obstacle was.

Faulty Countermeasures and Commander Vader
DSchultz replied to Muelmuel's topic in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions
Hello! Yes. A ship with the faceup damage card "Faulty Countermeasures" would be prevented from spending exhausted defense tokens for abilities such as Darth Vader (Commander) or Turbolaser Reroute Circuits. -
Star Wars Armada: Official Card Errata
DSchultz replied to DSchultz's topic in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions
Rules Reference Correction: Official errata have been made to the following card: •Reserve Hanger Deck (Offensive Retrofit Upgrade) Should read: "When a friendly non-unique squadron with Swarm at distance 1-5 is destroyed, you may discard this card. If you do, you may set that squadron's hull points to "2" and place that squadron, unengaged, at distance 1 with its activation slider toggled to the activated side. (Changed card text to enforce intended effect.) -
