  1. Expertise results that change a Critical to a Failure will not function on Strikes.
  2. The Showdown documents outline the differences. The organizer sets up the terrain. The rest will be as written in the core rulebook (with any other applicable exceptions in the Showdown documents or created by the organizer). The Showdown documents do not change how selecting a board edge works so you can choose any side. However, event organizers might restrict this at their discretion.
  3. All attacks go through the attack timing which does include defense rolls. Yes. When Tactical Network grants an attack to another character that attack will proceed through the entire attack timing chart including a new defense roll.
  4. Yes. Asajj Ventress, Sith Assassin will need to pay the Force cost for each use of Dathomirian Dexterity.
  5. No. Strained is a condition and conditions are not enemy or allied effects (page 15 of the rulebook).
  6. No. When a character Advances the movement tool cannot overlap terrain features that have a size greater than the character. Next time, one question per thread please. The Slow special condition prevents a character from using any movement tool other than the Slow movement tool when Advancing. When Hell on Wheels is used, the movement tool used can normally be any tool with a size equal to or less than the specified tool. Slow eliminates the option to use the longer tools.
  7. Yes, the Heals granted by Flow of the Force follow the normal rules for Heal. In the described scenario, Unit B can remove the three conditions on Unit A.
  8. Yes. Innate abilities have no cost and are always in effect. The limits on their use are described in their rules text.
  9. Both of those effects share the same timing so they can resolve in the order of the attacking player’s choice. If the Push happens first, this can cause the Ricochet to reach a character it couldn’t before the Push.
  10. Characters do not have Activation Phases. The Activation Phase is part of the round. This card is played at the start of this phase—before any player takes their turn.
  11. The Active ability triggered by a Combat Tree option cannot be used unless it is the attacking character’s activation. Your scenario cannot happen.
  12. They would need to Climb to do that. That requires the Dash Tool.
  13. Asgardian grants additional Power when the character gains Power. These abilities are separate effects so they are a different instance of Power gain.
  14. No. The Snip-et on page 11 clarifies this. Abilities that can be used “at any time” cannot be used while another ability or effect is resolving. In the scenario you describe, Barriss’s Reposition from her defensive expertise chart will resolve in step 10B of the attack timing chart. If Kalani gets 3 successes to trigger the Active ability, that will resolve during step 10C as per the rules on page 32.
  15. General Power gain is in step 1 of the Power Phase. These superpowers are step 2 so it will be a total of 2 Power.
  16. All rules for attacks must be followed when making one of these attacks such as range and LOS. If the rule does not specify a type of attack, either may be used provided the character has that type of attack available to them.
