Hello, No. The unit is placed at a speed-1 move, if possible. If it cannot be, place it as close to one as possible, even if that means a change of elevation. Since they cannot be placed a speed-1 move from their prior position, they are placed as closed as possible. This will likely mean they are placed at the base of the obstacle, and are not required to be able to perform a climb move to do so. No, as this would not be a speed-1 move. No; as above. Hope this helps, Seth

Hello, Yes. If the player wishes to achieve base contact with the terrain, the example units will have to move differently (perhaps using their Reposition keywords) in order to do so. Hope this helps, Seth

Repair, ion and vehicle damage token
Seth replied to SergeyStark's topic in Star Wars: Legion Rules Questions
Hello, As quoted, the Repair X keyword allows you to remove a total of up to X of the listed tokens, in any (any/or) combination. No, as all of these are removing more than X (1) tokens. Correct. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No. As stated under Resiliency: "A vehicle can only roll to determine a vehicle damage token once per game." No, a vehicle damage token is not removed automatically upon the vehicle's wound tokens being removed. No, for the reasons stated above; a vehicle can only roll to determine a vehicle damage token once per game. Hope this helps, Seth -
Hello, A unit with the Incognito keywords loses its effects if, among other things, it performs an objective card action. The Drop free action on the Bombing Run objective card is indeed an objective card action. The rules do not state that units with the Incognito keyword cannot perform objective card actions. They may, but if they do, they lose the effects of the Incognito keyword. Hope this helps, Seth

Hi, Minis on both sides are placed into base contact with enemy minis and in cohesion when and as described under the "Moving Into Melee" process (page 26 of the Star Wars: Legion Core Rulebook) and "Removing Miniatures in Melee" (page 31). In your example, unit B's Withdraw move will not affect the placement of any minis in unit's A and C, as no units moved into melee and no attacks were made. The timing of the activations of units A and C is also not strictly important; miniatures are placed into base contact if and after a melee attack made by either unit is resolved. Hope this helps, Seth

treating/repairing multiple units... several times
Seth replied to Carey's topic in Star Wars: Legion Rules Questions
Hello, That is accurate. You are not required to remove wound tokens from a unit before restoring minis to it. No. The unit leader may not be assigned wounds until it is the last remaining mini in its unit. Hope this helps, Seth- 1 reply

Hello, No. The aims spent for the Lethal and Long Shot keywords must be spent at different points during the attack sequence. Long Shot X is resolved during the Declare Defenders step, before rolling any attack dice. Lethal X is resolved during the Modify Attack Dice step. And neither of these will allow those aim tokens to be spent to reroll up to two attack dice. Hope this helps, Seth

Hello, The weapon keyword Suppressive is not an "X keyword;" X keywords are detailed in the Star Wars: Legion Core Rulebook on page 9. Additional instances of the Suppressive keyword in an attack pool will not modify the amount of suppression applied in that attack. If one or more weapons have the Suppressive keyword, the defender will suffer one additional suppression. Hope this helps, Seth

Hello, In the Imperial Remnant Battle Force, the nominated Commander can only issue orders at range 1-2. The HQ Uplink upgrade card allows the equipped unit to issue itself an order when exhausted. This may occur regardless of where the nominated Commander may be. Yes, for widely the same reasons. An order issue using the Comms Relay upgrade card is being issued by the unit with Comms Relay equipped; any range restrictions on the nominated commander as a result of the battle force special rules will not affect the text or effects of the Comms Relay upgrade card. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Comms Jammer upgrade card prevents an enemy unit from being issued orders when at range 1 of the equipped unit. Orders are (predominantly) issued during the Command Phase by your nominated commander and some other game effects such as the Comms cards mentioned above, which give the unit a face-up order token so that they may be activated at the time of the controlling player's choosing during the Activation Phase. A unit whose token is drawn from the order pool during the Activation Phase is not issued an order and does not receive a face-up order token. In your example, the red player's trooper unit will not be affected by the Comms Jammer upgrade as they are not being issued an order; they may activate as normal when drawn. Hope this helps, Seth

Wookiee Defenders Battleforce Speed 1 rule
Seth replied to NoobMasterNate's topic in Star Wars: Legion Rules Questions
Hello, No. The Charge keyword requires the unit make a move action. The standard move granted by the Wookiee Defenders Battle Force special rule is not a move action, and will therefore not allow abilities such as Charge to be performed after such a move. Hope this helps, Seth- 1 reply

Can C3PO(Golden God) engage enemy units?
Seth replied to Kraft's topic in Star Wars: Legion Rules Questions
Hello, As C-3PO does not have a melee weapon, he may not move into melee. Opposing units may indeed start a melee with him, assuming they themselves have a melee weapon. Both units will then become engaged, assuming they are both troopers of some variety. Hope this helps, Seth- 1 reply

Multiple standby vs wookiee defenders
Seth replied to Raszaj's topic in Star Wars: Legion Rules Questions
Hello, The Wookiee Defenders may perform a speed-1 move after the first standby attack is resolved. The second standby token may still be spent in response to the original move (or to the Battle Force special rules move!); if the Wookiees are no longer an eligible target, it may be spent to move or to attack an alternative enemy unit. Hope this helps, Seth- 1 reply

Allies of Convenience - Issuing Fewer Orders
Seth replied to Avacado's topic in Star Wars: Legion Rules Questions
Hello, As a unit with the Allies of Convenience keyword is eligible to order mercenary units regardless of affiliation, it will do so if required to by Command Card played. Excess orders are only lost if a commander cannot issue all the orders allowed by the Command Card. If you play Assault in this given example, the A-A5 Speeder Truck with the Raiding Party Leader will issue orders to 3 units. Hope this helps, Seth- 1 reply

Experimental Droid BF ability and AI
Seth replied to David G's topic in Star Wars: Legion Rules Questions
Hello, A unit affected by the AI keyword must make one of the given actions as its first action during its Perform Actions step. The free action granted by the Experimental Droids Battle Force may therefore only be resolved after the AI keyword has been satisfied by a specified action. It may not. AI: Move and Compulsory Moves

Hello, Yes, both Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine may suffer wounds using their mentioned command cards to defeat themselves. Yes, as Darth Vader or Emperor Palpatine were not defeated by an attack or effect caused by a unit with the Bounty keyword, they will award no victory tokens to any Bounty units controlled by the opposing player. Hope this helps, Seth

Equal pip Command cards speed 1 moves and engagement
Seth replied to yossarian's topic in Star Wars: Legion Rules Questions
Hi, Correct; a unit may not perform moves while engaged unless a card, keyword, or other game effect specifies otherwise. Correct, if a unit uses a speed-1 move granted by a command card to move into base contact with another trooper unit, that opposing unit may not move away except with a withdraw during their activation. Orders are issued by the player with priority in their entirety before the player without priority issues orders. In your example, player B does not issue an orders until after player A has issued theirs (and, in this case, resolved the free speed-1 moves secondary to those orders being issued). Hope this helps, Seth- 1 reply

Height & Climbing
Seth replied to ArtificerAlf's topic in Star Wars: Legion: Special Operations Rules Questions

Emplacement Troopers and Repair X
Seth replied to AverageJo3's topic in Star Wars: Legion Rules Questions
Hello! The Sabotage/Repair action is distinct from Repair X: Capacity Y keyword. Emplacement troopers may not use the Sabotage/Repair action (such as during Sabotage the Moisture Vaporators), but they may use the Repair X keyword if granted the opportunity (such as during a game with Supply Drop in play).
